Remember what “screens” consisted of when you were a kid? If you wanted screen time, it was probably a family affair, or at the very least, something you had to utilize in full view of everyone else in your family. But now, screens are everywhere! Screens give today’s kids almost unlimited access to all kinds of content with just a few clicks of a button, and it is so easy to use them in a way that no one else knows what you are looking at.
Screen usage seems inevitable, but parenting kids with this level of screens is unprecedented, so the big question is how do we manage all of this for our kids?

Why come to Navigating the Now?
Engage with other parents wrestling with the same question, listen to our expert speaker, Ryan, and gain wisdom and insight into how our faith impacts how we answer this question.

We believe this will be time well spent and encourage you to attend.

Here are all the details you need to know…

What: Navigating the Now, Session 1- Managing Screen Time & Social Media For Your
Children & Teens

When:
Sunday, September 24, 12-1:30 pm

First Church Upper Narthex  Bonus: Lunch & Childcare!

We recently met with our speaker, Ryan, from Ken Gates & Associates Counseling, and we enjoyed hearing his perspective. We can’t wait to listen to his talk! Don’t worry! He’s not coming to parent-shame your practices but instead gives you some new ideas, including embracing current technology for good!

Why is connecting important?

We at First Church believe living out faith is meant to be done in a community. In an article by Lovett H. Weems Jr. (Lewis Center for Church Leadership) about why people stay at church, he says, “The quality of the relationships people have seems to be the critical factor for people wanting to stay where they are.”
Finding “your people” in a church home (or Preschool Home) can enhance your experience and increase personal growth and satisfaction.
